The main principle of capitalism is that it is important to have testing times where businesses fail if they are not robust and the strong prevail while the weak go under.

Yes it might sound cruel but it is what makes capitalism the better of socialism.

Most societies now try to marry the two so as not to cause too much distress to the general public.

The US is the epitome of pure capitalism and as such is the most vibrant.

It also has the worst social protection and many suffer.

One can argue the merits of what is best but there seems little doubt that economic hardship on a regular basis is necesssary for the weeding out of the pansies in the jungle.

Were human nature not only different but the majority more aware and unselfish I believe we could achieve better but that is just my opinion and doubt I can see it in my lifetime.
