you are correct. I posted the income figure for the 6 months to September 2006 not the profit figure

"Income from ordinary activities $3,156 2,160,000

Profit attributable to ordinary equity holders of Macquarie Bank Limited $730,000,000"

A 40% increase in profit would result in a profit attributable to ordinary equity holders of Macquarie Bank Limited of $1,022,000 for teh 6 months to 30 September 2007.

The Fin Review has Maquarie Bank on a p/e of 13.6 based on earnings announced to date. With a 40% increase in earnings it would be more like a p/e of 10.
