Friday September 13th - Friday the 13th

SPI Futures traded in a 42 point range last night, with a high of 6676, low of 6634, and a close this morning of 6670, up 22 points, on better than lately volume of 16,151 contracts. Based on that range, my pivot point and R and S levels are below. The outstanding gap left from yesterday at 76 filled last night, leaving gaps up at 6675 and 6673. Next gap up from a previous day is at 6708, and the next one down is at 6607, so 100 points apart.

In the headlines - The European Central Bank (ECB) cut its deposit rate to -0.5 pct from -0.4 pct (Yes, that's a minus sign), and restarted its quantitative easing program with monthly €20 billion purchases starting November 1st. The market was dissapointed, but was counter balanced by the United States saying it would delay some tariffs on Chinese imports. DOW up .17 pct, SNP up .29 pct, and Canada (resource driven), up .19 pct. VIX down 2.67 pct to 14.22. Have a nice Friday the 13th, the anything can happen day.



Today in 2005, "Supernatural" debuted on The WB Television Network, starring Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki as two brothers hunting demons, ghosts, monsters, and other supernatural beings. The first episode, named "Pilot", was viewed by an estimated 5.69 million viewers.  "Supernatural" went on to become the longest running North American fantasy series. Yes, sometimes I feel like I'm hunting ghosts, as I see dead gaps. They're everywhere, but they don't know they're dead, and I'm pretty sure there is a demon living in my trading system watching my every move. My wife says I need to exercise more, but as it's Friday the 13th today, I might need to exorcise more.
