    Zoombie, the closing price of BHP ADR's is divided by 2 (2 adr's = 1 bhp share) and then converted to Australian dollars.

    Thus, last close at $US81.28 2 = $US40.64 = $AU 43.94.

    Of course, the opening price here is often much different to the US close, but is generally indicative in a ballpark sort of way.
