definately a big issue, but not on the same par as the blow ups with bear sterns & lemons (lehmans). One deals with the financial world the other the real economy.

Definately going to hurt especially short term, and especially in the US, but on a world viewpoint, its going to cause headaches but nothing like the that caused by the blow up of financial institutions.

For those that say its unfair that 'wall street' got bailed out but GM doesnt, i suggest trying to live for a month without a car and a month without anyform of financial system. This is a simplistic view, but it does surve to highlight how intrical the financial world is withing the real world.
The world can live without GM it cant live without financial institutions.
