That is very self assuring.

It is not guessing but applying what modicum of expertise we have.

No one gets it right all the time but we all hope we are gaining knowledge and improving with time.

I love it when you hear these fund managers saying you can't time markets.

These guys are raking off a fortune in fees for just putting all incoming cash into the market and most can't even match the index.

My efforts are poor but I constantly converse with those that can that leave me astounded.

Yes, you don't need to to make a profit that way, it just depends on the size of the profit you want and how clever you are and the time you are prepared to put in and the way you want to go about making it.

More importantly, it is the challenge.

I suspect many of us just love the mental application and the thrill of the hunt.

You don't always achieve the kill but that is a minor part.
