a little musing on the work of W D Gann...first let me say I have only begun to scratch the surface of his work but still a little observation.....

Without going into the details Gann spoke of the importance of the number 144 and fractions thereof. He also spoke of the cycles being like a circle with 360 degrees and that we should consider the angles along the way such as 90, 180 and 270 degrees.

i put a chart up a while ago showing that a lot of cycle counts seem to be pointing to March 17 as an important date....I know also Robbb, by his own methods has also determined that as a date to watch....it is also a 17th of the month which have been notorious low days.

One of my many cycle counts was that it will be exactly 144 weeks from the low of the 2006 correction so for fun this morning I thought I would get all gann like and look at 90, 180 and 270 degrees to see what i could see....

    0 degrees...13/6/2006 low of correction

90 degrees...20/2/2007 absolute high before march 07 correction which would usher in the last leg of the bull

180 degrees... 30/10/2007 missed the high by 19 days but if you look at the chart for that period the head of the H&S peaked at 14,280 on 11/10/2007 and then fell quickly to a minor low on the 22/10/2007 and rose to lower high on the head on 31/10/2007 at 13,990....it is like gann was predicting this second high could have been THE high

270 degrees....8/7/2008. this one week before a major low on 15/7/2008....many believed at the time it was THE low

360 degrees will be 17/3/2009...Gann says the circle is complete....will this date, or close to be THE low for this bear ?? have we got one more leg down or just a slightly lower bottom ???

Will the gann cycle then renew itself ??? could we possibly then enjoy a 72 week bull period ??

The cycle has a pretty interesting record so far so I will be watching around march 17th with interest
