I think there has been consistent evidence (a rarity in this particular case) that Hookes would make the pub pay the next day on the radio and have them closed down. That is obnoxious but does not absolve the bouncer / thug of any responsibility, he was still not justified in king hitting Hookes, esp. given he was a trained boxer.
