I agree and also winced at that post by SCD. Chewy already has "chewed" him out on that also.
To me it shows SCD must still be youthful (lucky SCD), as it takes some maturity with advice like yours over time avoid thoughtless remarks.
A good documentary on the Piper Alpha oil rig disaster / fire in the North Sea interviewed a survivor who was young at the time. A TV crew took some footage (intrusive?) of him just as he was rescued ashore and it showed him smiling and exuberant like a young dork. Later he finds out how many people have died and cannot come to terms with this image of himself being elated when tragedy has hit so many. He always regrets his behavior as recorded by the camera, but cannot escape it. It haunts him many years after.
