I can assure you it is no better in the UK. Even the Press motoring correspondents are verbally attacking the proliferation of all different types of speed cameras both fixed and portable plus the varying number of speed limit changes on short sections of class M, A and B type roads. In fact the county with the lowest number of speed cameras has the best safety record so we are led to believe.

I do not know how the funds are divided in Oz but in some parts of the UK it seems as if The Police deliberately go hard on issuing tickets because they receive 50% of the fine which then helps with their funding

It is a tricky problem here also. Some speed cameras have actually been blown up by disgruntled motorists
