I made no mention of the hand-out...to be clear, I was/am against it.

What I said was that as a DINK I have no problem paying a little more for the future wellbeing of this country...and as a DINK, I can afford to do so.

I am not really in favour of additional tax-cuts either...I don't believe that it is necessary. I don't believe that the times merit it at this point. As others have mentioned, I would rather see money being spent on infrastructure and capital works that are value-adding, and will strengthen our economy.

Handing out money that will be ultimately be spent on cheap throwaway imports is irresponsible and pointless.
