Can someone explain to me the status of the ACCC case and the possible outcomes and their respective impacts?
It seems that the egg trade is heavily scrutinised by regulators, and further that it is a) easy to fall fowl (!) of their rules, and b) hard to get deals and cooperative behaviour approved.
This case is not the first time FRM (and possibly other players) have been called out. In 2002 they were prevented from JV'ing with Pace. Yes, it was awhile ago, but govts have long memories.
My overall question is not about the business, which I think is pretty good, but about the potential cap on growth and tendency of the govt to be cautious when considering proposals. Will this hold FRM and the industry back in the long term?
