Rudderless on leadership front and the previous leader has left an over automated/innovated mess. Needs a proven and no nonsense operator to take charge and optimise, because it is well documented they have lost all their key management during the JW reign.
As mentioned in my previous messages on this forum, a discussion I had with one their senior engineers suggested that had almost completed a powerline in 2016 which would have reduced costs by some US$150-200/oz, only for it to be pulled by higher powers so they could play the innovation (solar) card.
That in place AISC would now be around US$1000/oz.
Going forward, RSG needs strong no-nonsense pragmatic decision making, from a leader/operator who understands how to get things done in West Africa. Otherwise, it will go under like BDR, not because of the project, but due to poor decision making and egos getting in the way.
