What a load of rubbish from RIO...
BHP were required to divest too many of their assets to satisfy the EU regulators, in order to clinch the deal.
That added to Rio's massive debt burden of $44 billion ( compared with BHP's $6 billion) made them one very unattractive prospect...debt servicing is going to be a nightmare for Rio Tinto...
