In 2019 there was a $ 46.483 M Loan for given by JARE and that is clearly not a operational profit. See 2020 AR PG 40. I would expect any investors in a new venture to look carefully at Lynas and the fact that for the 7 years that AL has run them they still have a net operational loss to be highly discouraging. I also added page numbers for the ARs to make it easy for people to check my numbers

Lynas was publicly listed in 1986 as a gold company. If I consider 2001 the start of Lynas the REE company ( That was year NC sold off gold division ) then in the 14 years he ran Lynas they loss close to a billion $ I do not think it would be fair to put that Burden on AL.
