I generally concur with your thoughts and comments. Am familiar with Rosen but don't subscribe.
LGL should be one of the better stocks to hold when gold flies. The technical picture for gold looks bullish (large head and shoulders formation), however this is tempered by negative COT data (large commercial short position) and oversold (some would argue) US dollar.
I think gold's big sustainable rise will coincide with a major event such as US dollar collapse, a realisation that the western economies are more dire than what we've been told, significant more Government bailouts, or a US induced war.
After all gold is termed "the bad news metal".
On the US dollar, I believe that it is in its twilight years as the world's reserve currency. And when the Americans realise this, they will try to implement bullying tactics to preserve its integrity.
Had my head down at Varsity in the 70's so only took a passing interest in the gold spike at that time.
