Here it is, and what someone thinks about the Sate of NSW with the shortage of gas.

In the meantime we are still waiting and waiting and waiting for our dearly beloved Management and Board to tell us what they are going to do with our money, besides paying themselves those juicy emoluments...

CONSULTING reservoir engineer and CSG expert Don McMillan has responded to yesterday's feature, Cheap gas offered in Victoria, saying APPEA should be reformed so industry can get on the front foot to tackle the rising tide of opposition.

The industries' response to the pending east coast gas shortage is lackluster to the point of irrelevance.

In my experience dealing with New South Wales, I found aggression is more effective.

I have the opinion that as a Queenslander who has suffered financially from NSW’s sanction on gas exploration, I am having difficulty finding sympathy for their pending gas supply crisis.

The idea of exporting your own environmental responsibility to someone else or another state or country is morally reprehensible.

In relation to fracture stimulation we should make a stand.

Fracture stimulation is now, if you like it or not, part of the world economy. The US employment is strong due to the low cost of energy.

Without fracture stimulation oil price would return to +$US140/bbl and gas +9/GJ.

Fracturing rock technology is over 150 years old and industry has been utilising high pressure water for over 60 years.

There has been no litigation against any fraccing company or petroleum company.

Trust me - if an aquifer was contaminated by fraccing the litigation would be unrelenting.

The question is why have we lost the respect of the general public. I believe we are to blame.

We have failed to address the public concerns regarding the work we do.

Silence from the industry is interpreted as “you are hiding something”.

Lately I have been reviewing newspaper articles, blogs and subsequent comments made by the public. The problem is obvious: the conversations go out of control unless someone intervenes correcting the misinformation.

In relation to the latest controversy, Condamine River, I have responded to the articles and comments made by the public. Amazingly the conversation dies.

The problem lies in the fact the voice of the oil and gas industry are the company executives and APPEA, who have little technical knowledge to respond to community concerns.

To change the public’s perception we need to reform APPEA and generate some activism from our leaders.
