We are in the middle of developing our email marketing capabilities and are working with a local specialist agency Bang Online Marketing. I have had good experiences in the past using DM and email marketing in particular. I like that you can measure the effectiveness of each project or campaign and accurately track stats - opened, unopened, bounced, clicked link etc. The team are currently creating the template for our monthly newsletter to all stakeholders, prospects, customers and opinion leaders in the GEO industry and our first edition will go out before the end of the month. It is going to be interesting to get feedback from recipients and to tweak the format month to month.
We are experimenting with a pop up on nearmap.com when you first visit the site to encourage our users to subscribe so we can keep them up to date with news, map updates, product enhancements etc. It is early days and we are constantly refining the execution and the image below is an early version - I know..... too wide! We have asked for some basic but key information including post code and mobile number so we can push SMS alerts at some point in the future. The interesting and exciting thing is that it has only been on the site for a day or so and we already have 400 plus subscribers.
