It's not stopping the inflow of foreign corporates and elites from buying farmland. It makes sense that food production should have a very bright future, as suitable land has been shrinking while populations have been increasing, along with a growing affluence in Asian nations.

We are certainly paying a lot more in the cities for meat and vege than we did 25 years ago. The increase in population within our cities and the increased export of agricultural produce should also be resulting in a better price per kg for farmers. If not, why not? What do the politicians have to say about this? Is it just greed on the part of the middle men? What part are the transnational corp's playing...something certainly seems to have gone down with the milk industry in recent years.

It is as though the PTB have been clearing the decks, as happened in the US many years ago, so as to have the land for themselves.

The country people are also having to contend with the resultant effects of CSG and wind farms, with little if any consideration from the political class.

The power of lobby groups has destroyed democracy.
