Opes clients had a penchant for speccie stocks and the biotechs were no exception. At the time of writing, Opes creditor ANZ Nominees held ... and the most problematic baby of them all, a 42 per cent slab of Russian-centric drug developer Solagran (SLA).
ANZ has promised to take a softly-softly approach to selling its small holdings, which is understandable given that in some cases the stock held accounts for a whole year's liquidity. However, bargain hunters should be ready to press the button if unjustified share price weakness emerges.
