Many posters have commented on Leslie's media performances, mainly concerning her positive and confident statements about IMU's ultimate success. We are all pretty uncertain on when this success will come. I don't think Leslie or Yuman Fong do either. Before I go any further let me state that I believe in the science, am a long term holder, in for the long haul and am impressed by both Leslie and Yuman.
IMHO Leslie is no different with her comments than a great many
other MD's/CEO's in the biotech industry and many other industries, in that she firmly believes in the ultimate success of her companies products if investors remain with the company. Her confident comments are simply to motivate investors to stay the course for as long as it takes to either achieve success or admit to failure. Simply put, she is doing her utmost to ensure IMU has the resources to see it through to the end. Most CEO's/MD's don't achieve this.
