Because trashing the brand is long term strategy. Internationally Qantas could be called Ajax Airways, would not be any different to them, but would free them from Australian responsibilty if they transfer business into other entities and trash the "brand", as they have done.

Makes no differnce to shareholders but laaves the Australian economy and security exposed which the Qantas Sale Act was supposed to protect.

I am quite sure if people understood a little better, rather than knee jerk kniving in the back of fellow hard working, highly skilled Aussies and speading malicous and untrue gossip about them, they would see Joyce is not only acting against the national interest but also against the longer term viability of the company. He is working for short term incentives.
