I'm still in the USA, looking for evidence of the military patrolling the streets and economic catastrophe as predicted by Alf Fields but the only danger I'm in is of being trampled to death by big spending tourists.
I've just been reading the WSJ, frontpage evidence that the economic recovery is on track, headlines 'Jobs Recovery Gains Momentum'.
There's bubbles and bubbles, big ones that can bring whole countries to the brink of economic ruin like the tulipmania or the Albanian pyramid schemes, and there's mini-manias like the uranium bubble.
For a long time in the USA which I visit very regularly there's been evidence of a mini mania in gold and silver, lots of TV and newspaper ads.
It now seems to have disappeared, it's all finished with only the odd reference to gold, central banks are sitting on their hands, no more QE, technically bad and huge volume when there's a selloff.
I can't guarantee the bubble has popped but I'd say the chances are 99.9% recurring.
