Australia is facing a critical shortage of fruit due to a shortage of international "students", backpackers and South Sea Islanders to pick fruit. Fruit will now be left on the trees to rot while we wait in the supermarkets for another source.
The government will increase imports of citrus from the USA and vegetables from China to satisfy demand.
