Hi guys, I did an experiment 4-5 months ago with my Brussels Sprouts... Last year I got a few but there were aphids everywhere, I had to pick off a few layers to get rid of them... I've noticed that when I sprayed my plants with an organic aphid spray it would weaken the plant and the aphids would eventually take over anyway... So this year when I transplanted my seedlings I put 4 plants in pots and 4 plants in my planter box... The 4 plants in pots I sprayed with an organic aphid and insect spray every 1-2 weeks, and the plants in the box I covered with a netting which is mesh-like which allows light, air and water in but it doesn't allow insects in... I didn't spray these plants at all... After 2 months the plants in pots were so riddled with aphids and caterpillars I had to throw them out, even though they were sprayed... It's harvest time today for the plants in the box under the net and they are perfect, no insects at all, completely untouched...I was amazed, I will do this every year, I don't know why people don't do this more... I think I'll do this for all my autumn/winter crops from now on...
