Excellent, but then look at the naivety of this quotation:

“The theory is that upon application, the product will bind with phosphorus in the water column while sinking to the lakebed . . ."

The theory? You mean the theory has yet to be proved?

Surely we should be reading: "What happens upon application is that the product . . ."

And then there are the approvals. You can bet your life that 'both levels of government' will have EP officers who will have to justify their existence - not by doing the research themselves, but by hiring consultants to advise.

I presume those costs will be bitten out of the $300,000 budgeted.

Let's end on two cheerful notes.

And another. Google "Lake Huron" in Google Maps. Zoom out. The area in question is on the eastern shore of Lake Huron. There is a cornucopia of enclosed bodies of water in that region.
