Frydenberg asking Dan to liff restrictions restore freedoms, page-3

There appears to be a major flaw in our democratic system. How is it possible for a single person to have stuffed up a State of over 6m people so absolutely? I thought the old adage "absolute power corrupts absolutely" applied to dictators/emperors/etc and not to democracies which is supposed to have checks and balances to protect we the people.
