First, only some of what has NOT been said in this interview.
No mention of, what is perceived by many or most people in the world, how tragic the situation is in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. The world is focusing its attention mostly on Gaza, neglecting to notice what Israel is doing to the people of WB. That includes attacks and murders by the settlers.
No mention of disproportionality of Israel's response to the events of 7 October.
No mention of the fact that Israel's shaky coalition government is composed of extremists and far-right religious politicians.
No mention of the urgent need to render help to the desperate and starving people of Gaza.
No mention of Israel's attacks on and murders of the press, doctors, nurses, UNRWA, Gaza's policemen and so forth.
No mention of thousand orphaned children, thousands of amputees.
No mention of distracton of the almost entire infrastructure in Gaza.
No mention of how many false stories had been spread (40 beheaded babies), which were subsequently debunked by the Israelis themselves.
Instead, a lot of talk about supposedly rampant antisemitism in Australia and focusing on how Australians are NOT aware of the seriousness of the situation.
A lot of talk about the Holocaust and the need to enforce the law in Australia in order to curb dissent at universities.
Josh Frydenberg had a chance to present a different view, more along the lines of progressive Jews. A more humane one acknowledging the suffering of the Palestinians.
He could have acknowledged that emergence of anitsemitism as a direct result of attrocities perpetrated by IDF in Gaza - this is what we see in thousands of short clips made by the IDF soldiers on various media platforms.
There is plenty more he could have said by failed to do so.
All in my opinion.
