Apparently, according to several top journos, eg David Crowe, Frydenberg was interested because of the adjustment too the electorate boundary bringing in a portion (very large) of Higgins, making Kooyong and even stronger Lib-favoured seat.
also apparently, the female candidate mooted to stand against the popular Monique Ryan was pulled to make room for Frydenberg....
I think it was James Campbell on Insiders said its one rule for a competitive seat, another rule for safe seat.
