Just some thoughts regarding the topic of this thread -

Free Trade Agreements with Japan, Korea and China will reportedly soon be joined by a FTA with India(within 12 months). That would mean that all DICEnet target export markets will be open for business.

    http://www.smh.com.au/federal-polit...in-address-to-parliament-20141117-11og0o.html

"Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will invite Australia to play a key role in supplying India's immense appetite for energy as its economy rapidly develops, using a landmark speech to Parliament on Tuesday to express support for coal and natural gas, but also renewable energy."

    http://www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/drive/india2c-australia-to-speed-up-fta-talks/5901108

"The leaders of India and Australia say they hope to have a Free Trade Agreement ready by the end of next year."

Exergen have always talked up Japan and India as export markets but have also more recently been associated with China and Korea, who both have representation in DICEnet. Tata and Itochu will no doubt play their parts in ensuring their partial ownerships of Exergen position them to benefit from any CHTD MRC exports.

Lots of noise being made in the media about continued and growing export of Aus coal to Asia/Chindia.

And plenty of support for finding new cleaner ways to use that coal.

    from DICEnet -

    • Preliminary MRC fuel standards have been developed in conjunction with MAN Diesel and Turbo who have taken a lead position with a staged engine development program, and the establishment of a specialised 1 MW single cylinder engine test facility in Japan.
    • Proposals are being developed for demonstration of DICE, with sites being nominated in New South Wales and Victoria. Similar proposals are being considered for Germany, India and Indonesia.

    from the AFR

"G20 leaders have given Japan the task of fast-tracking new clean coal technology which would be used by developing countries to burn Australian coal"

    from DICEnet

    Newcrest

Assessing the use of DICE to replace diesel generation for large gold mines.

Glencore(Xstrata), the world's largest exporter of thermal coal is also big on DICE -

"Micronised Refined Carbon – Direct Injection Carbon Engine (MRC_DICE) project: together, the Australian Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation, Xstrata Technology and MAN Diesel and Turbo are investigating the production of coal water fuel, for direct injections into diesel engines"

    http://www.glencore.com/public-positions/carbon-policy/

and Rio Tinto have just added the CSIRO's chief to their board of directors with this " the merits of carbon markets and the need for miners to adapt to the era of big data and technological disruption" and this "is highly regarded and has, throughout her career, forged a strong reputation for driving a culture of innovation and technology, making her a great fit for Rio Tinto" used in her introduction to Rio.

IMO these big mining Co's are interested in having remote DICE plants for power to run their mining infrastructure and will contribute towards it's fast tracking.

Exergen and it's partners are focussed on MRC export.

The way the world looks at coal is changing rapidly and before long only clean(er) ways of burning coal will be accepted, and Vic's high quality low ash brown coal will have a huge role to play in that market if the Aus/Vic Gov's get their way.

Vic election done and dusted next weekend.

Direct Action to go thru House of Reps this week.

Mantle look to have some of the best placed brown coal resources available for export with Bacchus near Geelong and EL5210 on rail/road/pipeline route out of the LV.

Looking at recent Mantle trading and forum topics, it seems everyone is aware that we are coming to a pivotal time in Mantle's long term development plans. Which way will it go? my thoughts are that by end of 1st quarter 2015 we will be looking at a completely different (and better placed) Mantle than what we are seeing right now.

    All IMO so DYOR

    good luck all holders
