The report "BlueGen application in Limburg" by Green Spread / NEBER shows that micro-CHP can have a good business case, if one looks at the overall situation. One of the advantages of micro-CHP is the improvement of the energy label.
For housing associations as the end user is in addition to the potential financial value of cheaper energy by combining the energy of their housing, they also use the larger scale of the BlueGen can improve their energy. The ambitions within the Energy Agreement (2013) states that the properties owned by the corporations average B energy by 2020. Inserting the BlueGen can contribute to this goal. According to the report 'Preview Estate 2011 existing buildings' AgentschapNL can the average terraced house for about € 8500, - architectural be renovated to Energy B (depending on the original condition of the property, this amount varies between € 7880, - and € 8980, -) .
Using the BlueGen can about four houses (with a total combined maximum power consumption of 13,200 kWh per year) at a time to Energy B go for € 21,000 - compared to an average 4 x 8,500 = € 34,000, - for building renovation. This investment has been recouped immediately! Especially in homes where an architectural renovation is not required, because of a protected village or because the homes are demolished 15 years in connection with the shrinkage, an investment in a BlueGen is a good choice. Even in buildings where it is not desirable to place solar panels because the roof is not strong enough, or because the monuments are concerned, the BlueGen is a very good alternative.
