If only life was that easy. Sure, its an important tool but I note there are fires in Grafton that are burning through area that were burnt two weeks earlier.
The fundamental issue is climate change which is lifting the base temperature, producing hotter/drier conditions and more days of extreme fire weather. When the Fire Danger Index are over 50 fuel load takes a back seat to weather, thats when we see fire racing across ploughed fields and even producing their own thunderstorms.
Im not opposed to fuel reduction just pointing out its only only one small part of the complex challenge facing us. Any long term strategy has to include reducing carbon emissions to turn around climate change.
