The problem with climate variability and its results is that the bigger picture is not being looked at.
It’s not just industrial emissions, is not just the ozone layer, its not just the methane from the cattle, it’s not just reduction burning etc, ad infinitum.

The carbon cycle needs to be looked at in the overall scheme of things.

It is out of balance in that the Co2 that is emitted into the atmosphere has no way of getting back into the soil due to the clearing of and the abuse of the land, ie no trees etc to recycle the Co2, and the destruction of the carbon cycle in the ground by agricultural practices.

We need to change the big agriculture practice of destroying the soil life with chemicals so the soil life can regrow and restore the natural balance. How many millions of acres? How many billions of tons of soil life?

This will allow the biota in the soil, which includes the fungi and the worms to be able to process the carbon, ie the build up from the forest floor or the carbon from crops grasses etc and sequester the carbon back in the ground. This creates a fertile environment to enable plants to grow which can then the draw the carbon(dioxide) from the atmosphere back into the soil and of course emit the resultant oxygen. Balance restored.

Then it just leaves managing the balance of what we pour back into the atmosphere via industry etc. with the level of carbon restorers in the soil, (trees, crops etc.)

To get a good quick start happening we could mine the coal, and suitably treat it and deposit it back into the ground in the form of a fertilizer and soil conditioner. This would then provide food for the fungi and by default, the worms. This creates the micro bacteria to break down the carbon to provide food for the Biota (fungi, micro bacteria, worms etc) reinstating that part of the cycle. Then obviously, the plants will grow.

If agriculture used these principals, most of the carbon cycle would be fixed. Then we just need to manage industrial emissions at a rate to keep the balance in the big picture.

It doesn’t matter how many electric cars you build it will not repair the broken carbon cycle. Token gestures like electric cars etc, will never repair the carbon cycle while ever your bum points to the ground.

With the carbon cycle restored, the planet would stop over heating reduce the fire issues back to manageable levels along with all of the other issues.

Geez, Is it really that hard?
