I love the cars and planes analogy, imagine how many more people would have died if the companies that made these things didn't try to make them much safer over the past century. Imagine a billion Ford model t's on the road with their dodgy brakes, or the skys full of 727's (For those that don't know, 727's had 85 hull lossess with a total of 3699 fatalities, not good)
