Nuclear has been unquestionably safer than coal for the last 25 years by about at least 100 deaths to every 1 caused by nuclear, let alone all the respiratory illnesses caused to local inhabitants in the coal mining regions, google Hunter Health and coal.
Modern plants are unquestionably much safer than older ones and the those
under R&D are safer still.

Every day that Fukushima survives a disaster of Chernobyl proportions will result in a more positive rethink on the safer and practicality of existing and future nuclear technology
Biggest concern for me would be safeguarding against terrorist activity.
