Transgrid recently abandoned a new transmission line to Lismore (from the Hunter coal-fired PSs) because the base load demand in the NR wasn’t there but ERM have peak power flexibility whereby they can turn the electricity on and off from a mobile phone in Brisbane and the turbines can produce said electricity in 10 minutes.
Very handy for Lismore when the Greenies turn on their air-conditioning at 5pm on a hot day and cause blackouts everywhere else.
