hard to say really as it depends so much on how good you are and your trading style

in times like these where specs are running

you can make very good money off only trading $50K

but given these conditions don't last a full year and there can be months in a row where making any money is hard

At least $100K if you are going to quit your job and just look after yourself

But to be safe

More like $500K - $1M if you have a big mortgage and a family depending on you

and like a decent lifstyle

And that's only if you are a gun DT/ST trader

this is always a topic that generates alot of interest

for all the people that criticise FT private traders imo

It is the freedom that such a lifestyle delivers as a FT trader

that is the holy grail for most Hot Copperites imo

Few on here manage to make a proper living as a FT trader.

it's not easy

But then again
