Although I don't do this often, I disagree with Alpha etc. What did you do exactly in IT? Personally was fired a few months ago and am looking on paper like making 4 years salary(before tax) in the last quarter of this financial year(after tax). That said, I have been watching the share market for some years. If you know what you are doing, go for it. If you don't, get another job. Put a small amount aside and play with it on stocks. If you are winning, keep going, if not get out, watch, learn and wait.
