re: elysian- (changing the header) - to atomu Thanks (?) olive. We marry whom we want and divorce whom we don't want!
Apropos the Herodotus piece, thank you for bothering. Unfortunately mitsos, to whom it ought to be directed, is somewhat confused about what he ought to be reading and what he ought to be excluding, so, alas, your work (and that of Herodotus) might be all in vain!
As well, as important as this part of the story is, its end is even more important because it provides us with the punchline: An invasion of Croesus' kingdom takes place and befor he knows it, he is put on a pile of wood and a match is about to be lit. It is then that he remembers Solon's words and shouts his name as one would shout a plaintive call to his God. I won't tell the end of the story, lest I ruin it for those with the inclination to read it.
Mitsos needs to understand that all wisdom is not contained in the writings of what has been called "The Book" but in many other books.
    Once again, many thanx.
