Fully Informed on WDS, page-6

There is a lot of back slapping and sniping on the WDS thread. I am definitely in the happy holder camp, but I'd like to add some perspective to the debate based on the SP and div history.



Observations
(1) WDS/WPL historical performance has been abysmal. Any long term holders here have a right to be dissatisfied with WDS not being able to recoup its $40 SP even in the middle of a oil/gas supercycle.
- Even a SH who bought at $36.28 just before Covid in Jan 2020, will be looking at there 2% annual return and wondering why they ever bothered.
- Fortunately, I am not one of them.
(2) Every other SH who backed WDS/WPL when it was down in 2020 and 2021 can be legitimately happy with their returns of between 86% to 117% per annum.
- It is interesting that the sweet spot to invest in WPL was between Sep-Nov last year for the best overall return.
- I first bought in Mar 2020, and steadily built a stake at Avg buy-in of $20.80, and a return of over 100%
