They cop an absolute pasting here, don't they! It's like a religion, it would seem - fervent lovers and haters. I've got some loot in the High Conviction Trust. Sharesight indicates that it has returned approximately 20% over the past year (12% dividend yield + 8% capital gain), which seems tolerable. I'm also invested in five of their funds. Across these five funds, the return for the year worked out to be 14.9%.
Managed funds are on a hiding to nothing, though. I've got money in some other major funds (not Magellan), and they flatlined last year. Swapping out of those into ETFs - like many others, I expect. Will hang around in Magellan for now.
I'm well in the red on MFG, though. Hopefully, they can buck the trend. Barrenjoey appears to be the key to its future, though (IMO).
