outflows/inflows provides an indicator of the popularity of the fund... the case at present seems to be continuous net outflow which is negative...
If the funds performance shows returns exceeding benchmarks then this should result in a return to net inflows....
my numbers were an example as stated... the point was to show what contributes to FUM and how an increase in FUM can be achieved even though there has been a net outflow...
This has been an issue hence they have lowered fees.... large movement towards low fee index mimicking funds
