Because the economy is showing some tentative signs of recovery in the US and there are rumblings about some easing in the amount of stimulus going forward. This could be all innuendo and not in fact true, but sooner or later the QE bias will start to ease. This is enough in my view to put some temporary pressure on Au, it is now though, becoming a fiat currency slowly but surely and less of a commodity in the classical sense. Do not worry, it will get some more yeast put into it and rise. IMO of course.
