Hi
@saintex,
I know you are a really smart dude
I have been thinking, who is wise enough to explain to a simpleton, the problem I have, if you would be so kind please.
When I top up on shares, the price is automatically adjusted by my broker.
But when I sell, I have a message, that basically says. You need to adjust the share price yourself.
This has been driving me crazy for the last couple of years.
My brain will simply not engage, how to figure this out.
I have asked a few people, but they simply did not know.
I have also googled it and fwded it to my husband, who is quite smart, along with the list of purchases which I made for this share, he gave up.
It is important, not for tax purposes as we are in a retired SMSF.
But eg, if my average price is approximately 0.70c and I hold 35000 shares.
Then I sell eg 10000 at $2.00 how do I work out and adjust my average price.
I know there must be a simple formula somewhere, as you need to know exactly how much you are in profit or loss.
I even asked a lady who was an economics teacher and she said, I don’t know what you are going on about
Thank you, if you can help.
Kind regards
joannie.
