Sorry Lost, I have no book to recommend you on US and UK markets. My knowledges on these markets mainly come from The Economist (that I try to read on a weekly basis), the Financial Times (daily pages published in the AFR) and my own experience of US stocks. Regarding US stocks, I have been mainly looking at the US tech (the mega US tech and the software sector) and recently looked at the listed social media companies. My favorite one, by far, is Amazon. Based on my sum of the parts, the stock can be worth much more than its valuation today. The only difficulty with Amazon is that their earnings are more difficult to forecast than the other mega tech. But if you look at the potential earnings in 3 to 5 years, you can see that the stock is not really expensive. Main difficulty with US tech : the stock performance depends a lot on the direction of long term interest rates. If you want to read on US tech, I recommend you what Magellan has been regularly publishing, as well as good articles done on Livewire.

Hi @saintex One other thing to consider is the amount of tax PNI pay. How are they paying fully frnaked dividends if they are not paying any tax? No tax paid is a recurring theme over the last couple of years, another little thing to watch. Best of Luck Lost
