All fair and well to say >10p/e for a retailer is expensive (and I tend to agree with you both), but if you look at the retailing sector on the asx the average is about 15.
Even big department stores that are doing terribly like Myer are >12. I know high dividends/low interest rates is priced in by the market but it's still looking like the whole sector is overpriced, with little growth prospect.
I would suggest that in the future companies like TRS will gradually take market share from the big retailers, as the middle class shops for cheaper gifts and household items (see my post in the other thread). This will take time however and for now I am happy to sit on the sidelines and see where the price goes. I do however believe $6-7 is far below where the market will go.
