With all due respect, I have heard things come out of directors mouths many times that have not eventuated. I wouldn't be using JKs words as gospel.

Personally I think there is a huge amount of overhead from those who have held from lower levels. Some would be on very large profits and the last thing you want to do is give it all back. This is one reason I like slow steady moves upwards rather than quick ups and downs. It tends to scare people understandibly.

This is the only conclusion I can come up with that's not sinister in any way. The sellers today were very large.
