I’m trying to get an understanding of what mining in Alaska is all about. What is the open window of mineable months of the year and the risks are? Perhaps @eshmun or anyone of you knowledgeable folks can comment please?
Having spoken to an associate with intimate knowledge of Newmont’s Oz operations, the word on Alaska’s operationsxare not that straight forward. It was either Barrick or Newmont that dropped a sheet load of $$ writeoffs in their Alaskan operation. I wonder if Pogo is all that it is cracked up to be like previous cheap assets bought in Oz or a graveyard potential?
