It might be required a bit more than 300 ha but the values are in that space. Going back to your calculation I would say:
- 1,100 ha x 900 mm/yr evaporation rate -> 25,000 t/a LCE
it is almost the same as
- 300 ha x 1800 mm/yr evaporation rate -> 15,000 t/a LCE
So what dictates the surface required for evaporation ponds (per tonne of LCE) is the evaporation rate, which in Rincon is relatively high (1500 - 3000 mm/yr)
Case dismissed.
