I don't have any quarrel with bot trading after my experience just recently. I bought a fair quantity of DOM. My order was with Comsec and was of sufficient size to take out three layers of sellers above the current price. In the past upon pressing the confirm button the trade would have executed in 5 seconds. This time to my surprise the trade took about 1 minute to think about it and then began executing itself as a whole series of tiny bot trades over a time of 5 minutes. The outcome was that the trade was executed at $0.02 cents per share cheaper than the maximum price I approved.
In the past I have had to phone contact Comsec by phone and say this order is of a fair size and I want you to execute it via a bot trade. Now it appears that all orders are entering the system via a bot queue.
I might add that the purchase is now underwater but it represents 1/3 of my re entry tactic and if the price retreats to $2.50 I'm up for another 1/3 and a retreat to $2.00 will see me in for another 1/3
DOM is in long term downtrend so any purchase must consider that fact.
